CCIE Enterprise Wireless v1.0 Development Rack

We have been busy since the last newsletter getting ready to start development on our new Enterprise Wireless products. Our development rack is nearly completed. All that’s left to receive are some licenses and a few new APs (more on that below). While it’s not 100% locked in, here is the initial topology that we will be using as we begin to develop our materials.

As you can see, it’s a rather large topology compared to older versions of the CCIE lab. This is born out of necessity for being able to cover all of the topics in the blueprint as well as to offer flexibility when it comes to creating mock labs. In a few months, we should be able to have the final version of the racks decided. At that time, we’ll make a YouTube video talking about the topology and the purposes behind it.

Product Development Plans

We expect to be able to begin work on our first products within the next week. We will be creating Workbook Vol 1 and Lab Video Series 1 in parallel with each other. If you would like to learn about our product update plans, we have created a page on our website that talks about our initial plans. Be sure to check that out if you are interested in what we’ll be doing with our new product portfolio.

Changes to the CCIE Enterprise Wireless Hardware/Software List

A few weeks back, Cisco changed some of the information in the hardware/software list for the upcoming Enterprise Wireless lab. We’ve listed the changes below. But you can see the official list here.

  • Changed AireOS code from 8.8 to 8.10
  • Changed code for the fabric controllers from 16.11 to 16.12
  • Changed code for DNA Center from 1.3 to 1.4
